Which Fabric Is Best For Scrunchies

There are many fabrics available in the market for Scrunchies and scrunchies require a small piece of cloth it can be from your scrape.

You can use cotton, velvet or satin. Be careful while choosing the fabric because if the fabric is too silky then it might just fall from your hair. Velvet fabric is a little bit expensive and looks rich in style but due to its hardness it gets difficult to sew.

For daily use I would personally suggest cotton material for scrunchies because it will prevent your hair from breaking and scrunchies will be long lasting.

Elastics To Be Used

Many of you will think what’s a big deal in choosing an elastic after all it will be inside in the cloth. But let me correct you, elastics play an important role in scrunchies.

You can choose ¼” elastic but I will suggest you should go for pipe elastic. It is ⅜“ wide and looks like a hair band. After using this type of elastic you will see the  grip it gives and the finishing will be amazing. Most of the blog writers will not state this key information but in my blog you will get every bit of information, tips and techniques.

Measure elastic 9” if you want to make scrunchies for thick volume hair or else if hair is thin then cut the elastic measuring 8”. If you are making for baby girls then reduce its length accordingly. And they say “practice makes man perfect” you just have to make as many as you can to get perfection.

As I mentioned above, nowadays scrunchies are in trend as a wristband. If you wish to make a wristband then measure the wrist and add half an inch to it.
